The first panel below shows Leroy with his physician, Dr. Igor, MSE (Mad Scientist Extraordinaire). I used to have a sketchbook with more Leroy and Dr. Igor sketches and comics but it vanished years ago. Maybe some of Igor’s magic potions were the cause.
The next three panels show Bruce selling lumber to a customer, Leroy being educated by his pet dog, Ernie, and Louie and Bruce in a rowboat, fishing. Fishing and baseball were two of my favorite pastimes in the summer of 1981 when I drew these comics.

The big monthly feature for September 1981 is called “Treasure Hunt” and has Louie, Bruce and Frank at the sawmill. Frank was often at the wrong end of Louie’s shenanigans, and Bruce was usually the onlooking eyewitness to them.

Thanks for joining me for a look back at Louie and Bruce, a fun and favorite endeavor during my art career.
Until next time, peace, love, and laughter, always.

I laughed way too hard at the, how long do you want the lumber, joke. Loved the golden lamp one too.
