Milestones

October is always a busy month for us at the Campbell household as we get ready for the upcoming winter months here in Pennsylvania.

Plus, I’m helping a friend with the discovery drafts of her first novel as she prepares for NaNoWriMo beginning next month.

Double plus, I’m working on my Green Crystal series every chance I get and wishing there were more hours in the day.

All this activity means I haven’t blogged much lately, and I’ve spent several days being a hermit from the Internet. So, it was a pleasant surprise today to see that I have a couple milestones at my blog to share.

First, a thousand likes. That’s a great achievement. Thanks to everyone who made it happen.

1000 likes milestone

Of course, it doesn’t happen if I don’t keep working hard to write interesting posts. Kudos to all of you bloggers who do it every day and keep your posts interesting.

Second, WordPress let me know that I’ve reached a hundred followers, so I’m excited to share that news with you too.

100 followers milestone

I appreciate every one of you.

Thanks for joining me in this celebration.

Peace and love.

  1. Congrats Steve! It would be hard for me to restart like you did from scratch with a new blog. I have one separate blog about baseball that I’ve had since 2019 that barely has any followers. It’s really hard work to start one and build it up.

    1. Thanks, Max. Blogging is a lot of hard work. So is self-publishing books. So far, my blog gets more attention than my books. There’s a friendlier community in blogging, which makes it more fun to do and easier to make friendships.

      1. That is the reason I do it Steve….the interaction. It is a good community here.
Because of what I deal with on mine…I get more views from google searches than I do WP. That makes sense I guess…anyone who would search for uh… “Waterloo Sunset” for example my blog would come up…so I see that.
I will say….it took me 6-7 months to get a comment.

      2. You will get there again. Steve mine is much easier because it’s pop culture. All I have to do is post a Beatles song and now the comments come in. When I started I didn’t post songs…I thought that would be lazy…I soon changed my mind.

      3. Music is a great topic. I remember a saying when I was young that music brings people together. That’s true today. People differ on the kinds of music they like, but they enjoy talking about it … and reading about it. That’s why I enjoy reading your posts.

      4. Yes I agree it does bring people together. I appreciate it Steve. I thought at first I would have to post just popular songs…but once you get readers they will follow you off the deep end at times…well album tracks…which I like the best.

      5. The tracks on albums are like snapshots in photo albums. Each track tells a story, just like each photo tells a story. At least, that’s how I’ve always defined music albums. So it’s fun to “leaf through” them, just like photo albums are. We have our favorite tracks/photos that we go back to when we want to relive/reexperience certain events/emotions. That’s what music has always been for me.

      6. The album tracks do mean the most to me. I would buy…lets say Abbey Road. I knew Come Together, Something, and Here Comes the Sun was on it…but of course I would listen to everything else…ended up liking those as much or more…rinse and repeat on The Who, Stones, Kinks etc…
The way you described it is perfect
